William L.

Former ILTCO rep for the CPLTC, ILTCO rep for SALUG, Lugnet Member, Classic-Castle.com member and active Bricklink purchaser. I am a father of two, a boy and a girl. I am primarily a castle builder, but I also work with town and trains when the notion catches me. I have been building with LEGO since 1979 and the first set I remember getting was the Classic Yellow Castle.

Roy N.

I've been playi -er- building with Lego since 1980. I had a big come back to Lego in 1999 with the release of Star Wars Lego and discovering old instructions posted on Brickshelf. I specialize in automation using Lego Mindstorms and I particularly enjoy the Technic, Star Wars, Castle, Pirate and Space themes. My best creations include an automated castle and marble machine. My favourite set is the 8480 Technic Space Shuttle.

I have been a First Lego League coach for the past two years. I work part time at the Calgary Science Centre running their Lego Mindstorms Lab. In the summer of 2004 I was commissioned by the Calgary Science Centre to build an automated permanent Lego display of a Mars base. In the spring of 2004 I was at Legoland billund (Denmark) where I was able to arrange a factory tour. I have been a member of SALUG since it was first formed and have participated in Supertrain 2003, 2004, and soon to be 2005. I have been a LUGNET member since 2002.

Adam M.

I am a Lugnet member, Bricklink member and FBTB member. I am also a founding member of SALUG, and was the organizer for the first train show that SALUG participated in. My interests in Lego vary from Star Wars, to Trains, to Town, to Adventurers. As a kid, I had several Lego sets, and became an AFOL in 1996, and have been active in the Lego community since then.

Trevor V A

Primary themes: Star Wars, space, castle and town. Founding member of SALUG.

Albert D.

I have been an avid Lego fan since 1967 collecting approximately 370 boxed sets containing almost 78,000 pieces. I have another 110 MOCS containing almost 16,000 pieces. I have been a Lugnet lurker since our family got our first computer about five years ago and am an active member of Salug, a local Lego club in Calgary.

My main interests are Town and Train. I didn't do a lot of building until I discovered Lugnet and most of what I build stays together assuming I am happy with it. My latest interest has been in attempting to build realistic looking farm machinery in Lego scale. I don't recall my first set but the most warn catalogue I have is from 1972 and is printed in Dutch. I am a father of three girls and have been married since 1982.

I am a Lugnet and FBTB member/lurker and active, when the pocket book allows, LEGO purchaser. Also love to keep an eye out for deals and such and help others score good deals. I am the father of two intense children and am finding little time to devote to this hobby of mine, not to mention being more of an active club participant... give it a couple more years. I am primarily a Star Wars LEGO collector, seeing as both passions can be serviced by this hobby and having enough of a disposable income to start a complete SW collection from the beginning (1999) vs. back-tracking stuff from 1977! Other LEGO interests include anything else that catches my fancy, be it Technic or Model or just about anything. Having had my LEGO disposed of at the age of 10 (I should have been "studying more") it kind of made it a "parental revenge" that I get back into it at the age of 20 with big Technic sets back in 1990... and then 1999 came up and two loves came together in one package! I do the occasional MOC and mechanical invention (RIS) here and there as well as "correctional mods" on the current collection...definitely tends to pale in comparison with what my colleagues have done not to mention the community at large.

President of SALUG. I have been building Lego since I was 4 years old. Town has always been a favorite subject to build with. The building sets of the mid 1980's are particular favorites, as were the first pirate sets. Enthusiasm for Lego peaked in 2001, at Calgarys 'Supertrain', when I was introduced to an adult Lego club from Edmonton. Joining SALUG has allowed me to combine my interests in Lego and model trains.

Michael R.

SALUG member for almost two years, big on "L" gauge and city.
I am an active LEGO builder and also a Seller and Buyer on Bricklink and a retailer of LEGO product in Calgary.

LEGO has been a life long love, which was born again late in 2002 and went crazy after seeing the SALUG display at the Supertrain 2003 in Calgary! I had always been a train fan and now to have my two favorite things combined...Cool!

Glen B.

Somewhat active Bricklink purchaser, as well as a Lugnet and Brickshelf member. I am primarily a technic model team builder with the main focus on semi-trailers and heavy equipment. I have been building lego creations since forever(!) and I believe that the first lego set I recieved was.... Actually, I can't remember - it is too long ago! But, more than likely, something to do with trucks.

Grant N.

SALUG Web Admin. Lego geek since before I can remember. One of my earliest Lego memories involves getting a set with a small helicopter (I still have a few of the parts from that set). I'm big on variety, so have sets from a wide range of Lego themes. My favorites are probably Trains, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Mindstorms and bulk. I participated in Supertrain 2003, and am building a river canyon with train bridge for Supertrain 2005.

I have 2 young boys and they helped me rediscover Lego in about 2004. I had not played with Lego since I was a kid and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. We collect mostly Trains with Star Wars Lego coming a close second. Our train layout is huge and we have about 1000 pieces of track with around 12 trains.

Lego became my personal creative outlet in 2008 and I started creating my own trains. The first one I made was a model of the Calgary C Train which can be see here. This was very well recieved and encouraged me to continue with the C Train theme. I now have several train and stations. The rest of my creations can be seen on my MocPages account.

I joined SALUG in 2008 and have run my C Trains at several shows including Heritage Park Railway Days and SuperTrain. This has been a great experience for me and the boys. We have thoroughly enjoyed participating in the huge displays that SALUG puts together.
